What are Hook and Loop Patches?
When you make custom patches with us, you have various attachment options for your customers, clients, and supporters to fix their patches to their chosen garments once they've bought your product. They are:
- Sew-on
- Iron-on
- Stick-on
- Hook & Loop
The first three options and phrases you're probably familiar with are self-explanatory. However, 'hook and loop' might not be a phrase you're accustomed to, so stick with us to learn what it is, how it works, and if it's the right choice for your patches.
What Does Hook and Loop Mean For Patches?
Unlike regular iron-on or sew-on patches, the final product comes in two pieces when we make hook-and-loop patches. With your chosen design, the patch has the rigid 'hook' fabric on the back and a separate piece of fabric cut to the same shape as the patch made out of a fuzzy loop material.
The hook side is covered with miniscule hooks, while the loop side is covered with fuzzy loops. The hooks catch onto the loops when pressed together, creating a strong bond that holds the patch in place. This simple yet ingenious design allows for easy attachment and detachment, perfect for switching up your look or transferring patches between different garments.
The Benefits of Hook and Loop Patches
One of the main advantages of custom hook-and-loop patches is their reusability. Unlike sewn-on patches, hook-and-loop patches can be removed without damaging the attached garment. This makes them ideal for military personnel who need to change their logo frequently or for workers who switch between different uniforms.
Another benefit is the ease of use. Attaching a hook and loop patch is quick and requires no special tools or skills, making it accessible to people of all ages. This is particularly useful when patches must be exchanged or updated regularly and swiftly.
Custom Hook and Loop Patches
Custom hook and loop patches allow for personalization and branding. Organizations, clubs, teams and EDC groups can create custom designs representing their identity and ethos. These patches can be made in various shapes, sizes, and colors to suit any requirement. Moreover, the ability to remove the patch means it's simple to update branding or designs without having to replace the entire garment.
We offer hook and loop fixings to all of our custom patch products.
The Versatility of Hook and Loop Patches
The versatility of hook-and-loop patches extends beyond clothing. They can be used on backpacks, hats, and even tactical EDC gear. Their practicality has seen their popularity grow in various industries, from emergency services to outdoor sports.
